Snart var det två månader sedan Eclipse kom ut på bio. Filmen har givetvis gjort succé världen över. Enligt Box Office Mojo har filmen spelat in totalt 635 miljoner dollar världen över! New Moon spelade totalt in strax över 700 miljoner dollar under hela tiden den visades på bio.

Om man ser statistik över de nordiska länderna ser man att filmen har dragit in mest pengar i Sverige. Filmen hade premiär samma datum i hela Skandinavien, dvs den 30 juni.

Details: In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, you play the former fiancé of Edward’s sister, Rosalie. How did you land the part?
Jack Huston: I auditioned for another part—a newborn vampire—and kind of shocked the producers. I acted like a junkie. I hadn’t slept the night before and had drunk lots of coffee. Everyone was like, “Um, a little too edgy.” But they liked me enough to offer me this part instead.

Details: What’s it like to be part of the Twilight phenomenon?
Jack Huston: I have never seen anything like it, actually. I turned up for shooting and, literally, everyone was there—children, teenagers, 20-year-olds, mothers, older ladies. There was an English teacher, who had saved up her time off and flown from England to Vancouver to put herself up in the same hotel as the cast. She sat in the lobby all day, just to see them walk out. That’s a little extreme, but I like her dedication.

Details: Your character isn’t a nice guy. Have any rabid fans confronted you yet?
Jack Huston: They haven’t said anything to me yet. I’m safe for now. But imagine if it turns nasty and they camp outside my house with knives. That would be terrible. “Stop attacking me! I’m really a nice guy! I am not a rapist!”

When you put your heart and soul into something as intense as the duration of a film production, you become completely lost in it. You focus on doing your very best to get it right each day and you work on this for so long that you assume an ownership of it.

When shooting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, I always felt an awareness of how many people this film would reach and as a result, knew that this film did not just belong to myself, the producers and the studio, but more so, to all of you, the fans of The Twilight Saga.

At the end of the day, after all the hard work is done, all that’s left is the film itself, and your overwhelmingly positive and supportive responses have made me feel like we must have done something right. As a filmmaker, this is a rare and strange feeling of connection with an audience of which I will never forget and I thank you all for it.

Jag har sagt det förut, men säger det igen; David Slade gjorde verkligen ett kanonjobb med Eclipse. Eclipse är klart den bästa av alla Twilight-filmerna enligt mig.

Nu börjar biobesökssiffrorna för Eclipse trilla in. Filmen har givetvis spelat in en hel del pengar vilket aldrig var oväntat. Från tisdag (midnattsvisningar) till lördag har filmen dragit in 162 miljoner dollar i USA! I onsdags på premiären spelade den in 68,5 miljoner dollar, detta lite mindre än då New Moon hade premiär en fredag.

I Sverige är sifforna inte heller dåliga, rättare sagt magiska. 214 000 st har redan sett filmen. Detta är färsk och officiell info från Nordisk Film. Verkligen jättekul att se att filmen gör succé!
